For Binance it loads a 1,000-level snapshot and applies every update in strict sequence; for Bybit and OKX it follows the venue's snapshot + delta feed. Any missing update triggers a resync instead of guessing.
Each column is a sample of the book at that moment; resting orders are grouped into price buckets and coloured by their dollar value on a logarithmic scale. Areas outside the depth the exchange provides are shaded as 'no data', never as empty liquidity.
If one exchange is unreachable from your region or rate-limits the connection, the heatmap switches to the next one automatically and shows which source is live.
It shows resting limit orders at each price over time. Bright bands are prices where a lot of liquidity is waiting; watching them appear, move or vanish helps you understand where the market may slow down.
No. The data is recorded only in your browser while the page is open. We do not store order-book history on our servers, so every visit starts a fresh recording.
Yes. Orders can be cancelled at any time, and large orders are sometimes placed only to influence other traders (spoofing). The heatmap counts walls that were pulled before price reached them so you can judge how reliable they have been.
Exchanges only provide a limited number of price levels - for liquid pairs that is often just a few tenths of a percent around the price. Beyond that we have no data, and the heatmap shows it as shaded rather than pretending there is no liquidity.
